We are seeking a dedicated Bilingual Biology Teacher to deliver high-quality science instruction in both English and Chinese. The successful candidate will teach IGCSE and A-Level Biology, support students in achieving academic excellence, and contribute to our bilingual education programme.
Teaching & Learning:
Teach IGCSE Biology to Grades 9-10
Teach A-Level Biology to Grades 11-12
Deliver instruction in both English and Chinese (bilingual teaching)
Prepare students for Cambridge IGCSE and A-Level Biology examinations
Conduct laboratory experiments and practical investigations
Integrate bilingual approaches to enhance content and language learning
Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs
Laboratory Instruction:
Plan and supervise hands-on laboratory activities
Ensure strict adherence to laboratory safety protocols
Develop students' practical skills and scientific methodology
Maintain laboratory equipment and supplies
Guide students in completing required practicals for examinations
Foster inquiry-based learning and scientific thinking
Assessment & Evaluation:
Design formative and summative assessments aligned with Cambridge standards
Prepare students for IGCSE and A-Level examinations
Provide timely, constructive feedback in both languages
Monitor and track student progress toward examination goals
Maintain accurate records of student achievement
Support students with examination techniques and preparation
Bilingual Education:
Deliver content instruction in English and Chinese
Support students in developing academic language proficiency
Create bilingual teaching materials and resources
Use translanguaging strategies to enhance understanding
Collaborate with Chinese and English language teachers
Support students' bilingual development and cultural understanding
Student Support:
Provide additional support for students requiring assistance
Mentor students in science career pathways
Guide students with university applications for science programmes
Encourage participation in science competitions and projects
Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment
Support students' holistic development
Curriculum Development:
Develop lesson plans and teaching resources aligned with Cambridge curriculum
Create bilingual materials and assessments
Integrate technology and digital tools into teaching
Contribute to curriculum review and enhancement
Share best practices with colleagues
Stay current with developments in biology education
Professional Collaboration:
Participate in departmental meetings and school events
Collaborate with science department colleagues

Essential:
Bachelor's degree in Biology, Life Sciences, or related field
Valid teaching certification/license preferred
Minimum 2 years of teaching experience, preferably in international schools
Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and/or A-Level Biology
Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin Chinese (essential)
Strong knowledge of biology content and laboratory practices
Experience with bilingual or CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) approaches
Excellent classroom management and organizational skills
Commitment to student achievement and bilingual education
Strong communication skills in both English and Chinese
Preferred:
Master's degree in Biology, Science Education, or related field
Experience teaching in Chinese international schools
Familiarity with Chinese national curriculum and Cambridge curriculum integration
Experience with examination preparation and proven student results
Proficiency in educational technology and digital learning tools
Experience with laboratory management and safety
Knowledge of Fujian Province educational context
