Houhai English is a fast-growing bilingual education brand with 31 campuses across China. We currently operate 15 campuses in Beijing and plan to open 20 new locations nationwide by the end of the year. With an annual hiring target of 50–60 foreign educators, we offer structured onboarding, continuous professional development, and a collaborative campus environment dedicated to student-centered, immersive English learning.

📅 WORK SCHEDULE & TEACHING HOURS

• 📍 Chengdu City Campuses: 120 teaching hours/month | 2 weekdays off, weekends working

• No office hours

📋 KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deliver engaging, age-appropriate English lessons using Houhai’s proprietary curriculum and teaching materials.

• Create a positive, immersive, and child-friendly classroom environment that encourages participation and confidence.

• Collaborate with Chinese teaching assistants and campus management to track student progress and maintain high teaching standards.

• Participate in regular teaching demos, campus open days, staff training, and curriculum feedback sessions.

• Maintain accurate student records and communicate constructively with parents regarding learning milestones.

✅ QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Nationality: Native English speaker from the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or Ireland. (Please note: South African applicants are not currently eligible per campus work permit policies.)

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or above (any major).

• Certification: Valid 120+ hour TEFL/TESOL/CELTA certificate.

• Experience: Open to fresh graduates or candidates with limited teaching experience. Comprehensive pre-service training and mentorship provided.

• Age: Generally under 45. Up to 50 may be considered for urgent hiring needs.

• Profile: Warm, energetic, patient, and highly child-friendly. Strong cross-cultural adaptability and a professional attitude.

• Compliance: Clean criminal background check and meet Chinese work visa health/legal requirements.

• Note: Campus housing and scheduling are structured for single applicants; couple/family applications cannot be accommodated at this time.

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

• Monthly Salary (Pre-tax):

  • Beijing: RMB 18,000 – 22,000 (includes housing allowance)

  • Other Cities: RMB 24,000 – 25,000

• Performance Bonus: RMB 4,000 contract completion/performance bonus

• Flight Allowance: RMB 6,000/year (paid directly upon contract fulfillment; no reimbursement process required)

• Overtime: Paid at agreed hourly rate for teaching hours exceeding monthly schedule (Beijing package)

• Leave & Holidays: Paid Chinese national holidays, annual leave, and scheduled campus holidays

• Career Progression: Salary review and potential increase upon contract renewal based on performance & campus needs

• Support & Compliance: Full Z-visa & Foreign Teacher Work Permit sponsorship, airport pickup, settling-in guidance, and ongoing professional development

INTERVIEW & HIRING PROCESS

Our streamlined recruitment cycle is typically completed within 1.5–2 weeks:

1. Round 1: HR Screening Interview (via Tencent Meeting/VooV)

2. Round 2: Teaching Demo & Academic Interview (conducted via WeChat or Microsoft Teams group)

3. Round 3: Final Interview with Campus Director / Academic Manager
