Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced English Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will teach English to secondary and senior high school students, utilizing both integrated curriculum approaches for junior students and preparing senior students for the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education (DSE) English examinations.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning:

  • Teach English to secondary and senior high school students

  • Deliver engaging lessons using integrated curriculum approaches for junior secondary

  • Prepare senior students for Hong Kong DSE English Language examinations

  • Develop students' reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills

  • Use innovative teaching methods and educational technology

  • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs

  • Foster critical thinking and effective communication skills

DSE Preparation:

  • Provide comprehensive preparation for DSE English Language exams

  • Teach DSE curriculum content and examination techniques

  • Conduct mock examinations and provide targeted feedback

  • Monitor student progress toward DSE achievement goals

  • Maintain accurate records of student performance

Assessment & Evaluation:

  • Design formative and summative assessments aligned with curriculum standards

  • Provide timely, constructive feedback on student work

  • Track and analyze student progress data

  • Prepare detailed reports on student achievement

  • Use assessment data to inform instruction

Student Support:

  • Support students' academic and personal development

  • Provide additional assistance for students requiring extra help

  • Encourage participation in English language activities and competitions

  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment

  • Promote students' confidence in using English

Professional Collaboration:

  • Participate in departmental meetings and collaborative planning

  • Work with colleagues to ensure curriculum continuity

  • Engage in professional development opportunities

  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress

  • Contribute to school events and activities

Qualifications & Requirements

Essential:

  • Master's degree in English, Education, TESOL, or related field (required)

  • Valid teaching certification/license from home country or Hong Kong

  • Minimum 2-3 years of teaching experience in secondary schools

  • Experience with Hong Kong DSE curriculum and examinations (highly preferred)

  • Experience with integrated curriculum approaches

  • Native or near-native English proficiency

  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Commitment to student achievement and holistic development

  • Cultural sensitivity and adaptability

Preferred:

  • Experience teaching in Hong Kong or international schools

  • Familiarity with Hong Kong educational system and culture

  • Experience with bilingual education

  • Knowledge of Cantonese (advantageous but not required)

  • Proficiency in educational technology

  • Experience with project-based and inquiry-based learning

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: 20,000 - 27,000 RMB/month (before tax)
